One Shot Brass Band was founded in the fall of 2012 when a group of college students who were all born and raised in New Orleans, La began their undergraduate journeys at Southern University A&M College.

As collegiate musicians in the Human Jukebox Marching Band, these young men didn’t have the availability to obtain typical employment. This allowed them the opportunity to organize themselves and use their God given talents as musicians to entertain and keep the New Orleanian Musical Culture alive while doing so.

One Shot Brass Band offers the epitome of traditional New Orleanian Brass Band culture as well as the more secular tone that many are fond of. The brass band also doubles as a stage band, fulfilling many bookings as a reception band on many occasions.
